Since receiving her Juris Doctorate cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1983, Attorney Linda Law Carroll has worked tirelessly to represent her clients in a diverse range of practice areas. With a B.A. in International Relations from the University of California – Davis, Attorney Carroll has always been committed to resolving complex disputes with a diplomatic approach and thoughtful consideration for all parties involved.
Attorney Carroll has worked with our firm since 2006, serving countless individuals throughout Pittsburgh with her skills as a negotiator and a motivated legal advocate. Focusing primarily on elder law here at Marks Elder Law, she also has a wealth of experience in estate administration, wills, estate related litigation, and guardianships.
Practice Areas
- All aspects of estate administration including, but not limited to, opening estates, completing required court filings, preparing inheritance tax returns, state and federal personal and fiduciary income tax returns, preparing Petitions for Settlement of Small Estate, Family Settlement Agreements and accounts for audit, drafting Agreements of Sale, deeds and other asset transfer documents, attending closings, coordinating distributions, maximizing tax savings, and closing estates.
- Orphans Court litigation, including will contests, surcharge actions, removal of personal representative, appointment of personal representative, actions to compel accounting, Petitions to Settle Small Estates, Petitions to Compromise Taxes and trust litigation.
- Drafting and implementation of Wills, Healthcare Powers of Attorneys, Business and Financial Durable Powers of Attorney, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, and Special Needs Trusts.
- Preparing Guardianship accounts, Petitions for Distribution and Petitions for Allowance of Fee
- Nonprofit and for-profit incorporations, LLC formation and drafting of Operating Agreements and all aspects of obtaining tax exemption for non-profit corporations
- Extensive use of TimeMatters, Lackner, Excel, Microsoft Word, Turbo Tax
